P2P JUNIOR

OVERVIEW

Paper to Performance™ Junior Arts Program is a creative arts program that focuses on social-emotional growth, creative writing, and performance skills. We give emerging writers, performers, and imaginative students in our community an opportunity to develop new skills and express their creativity in a supportive environment. This workshop series is a deep dive into the art form and impact of spoken word poetry.

This program will challenge participants to develop the following competencies:

  • Self Awareness & Expression

  • Developing Resilience Through Creativity 

  • Building Relationship Skills with Collaboration

  • Social Awareness Through Effective Storytelling

  • Goal Setting & Making Proud Decisions

The cost per session includes workshop materials, instruction, and a program t-shirt.

PROGRAM FACILITATOR

Sharlene is a talented spoken word poet and recording artist hailing from Brooklyn, NY, with over a decade of professional performance experience. Her expertise extends beyond the stage as she also teaches the art of writing, speaking, and inspiring through honest and impactful lines.

Throughout her career, Sharlene has had the privilege of sharing the stage and collaborating with a diverse array of talented singer/songwriters, producers, and fellow spoken word poets. Her impressive list of collaborators includes Antoine Bradford, Chris Webb, Ezekiel Azonwu, Jess Ray, Mission House, and The Verses Project, among others.

Renowned for her ability to weave compelling stories through her performances, Sharlene has also dedicated herself to imparting this skill to others. She has developed a comprehensive program, born from her extensive experience, designed to dismantle barriers, spark creativity, and empower individuals to share their unique stories. This program is a testament to her commitment to fostering a community of expressive and inspired voices.
